Flying First Class on Cathay Pacific: A Kid’s Dream Travel Experience

🛫 Harper’s First Class Adventure Begins…
Hi everyone! Harper here! ✈️💺
Okay, let me spill the (in-flight) tea on one of the most unforgettable travel moments of my entire life—flying first class on Cathay Pacific Airways on my way to China. I may have been little, but even then I knew something magical was happening. This wasn’t just a flight—it was a floating luxury hotel with gourmet food, beds in the sky, and the best snacks ever.
🛌 A Seat That Becomes a Bed
Let’s start with the seat. Or should I say—pod! Because when you fly Cathay Pacific First Class, you don’t just get a chair… you get your own mini world.
- Super soft leather seat with tons of space
- Privacy walls that make it feel like your own room
- A giant TV screen and a remote just for you
- Buttons to turn the seat into a lie-flat bed
And I don’t mean “kinda reclines like a fancy chair” bed—I mean real, full-on sleepover-style bed with a mattress pad, big blanket, and fluffy pillows. When bedtime rolled around, one of the flight attendants came by and made the bed up for me like I was staying in a hotel. I was SO cozy I almost didn’t want to land!
🍽️ Dinner in the Sky (with Caviar!)
Okay, foodie moment incoming: the dining experience was next-level. When it was time for dinner, my mom’s seat turned into a table for two so we could sit across from each other like at a restaurant. The table had a white cloth, fancy silverware, and even little salt and pepper shakers. 💁♀️
I got to try:
- Fresh baked bread
- Creamy soup
- Pasta and grilled chicken
- And yes… caviar!
It was my first time trying it and honestly? It was salty and buttery and fancy and delicious. I felt like a celeb! They even brought sparkling apple juice in a real glass so I could “cheers” with my mom like a proper dinner date.

🎮 Entertainment Galore
Long flight? No problem.
Cathay Pacific had a HUGE entertainment screen filled with:
- Movies (Disney, Marvel, and more!)
- TV shows (from cartoons to dramas)
- Video games (my personal fave)
- A touchscreen remote and noise-canceling headphones
I played games, watched movies, and didn’t get bored for one second. Pro tip: bring your favorite cozy socks and headphones just in case—you’ll want to settle in like it’s your own personal movie theater.
🎁 The Cutest Kids’ Amenity Kit
One of the coolest surprises was the kids’ amenity kit—basically a little present just for me. Inside was:
- A mini toothbrush & toothpaste
- Coloring pages and crayons
- Stickers (yes, I decorated everything!)
- A travel pouch I still use today
It made me feel SO special. Like, they really thought about what kids need and want while traveling. 💖
✈️ Friendly Skies, Friendly Crew
What made the flight even more amazing? The Cathay Pacific crew. Every flight attendant was so kind. They talked to me like I was a grown-up guest, asked what snacks I liked, and made sure I was always comfy.
They even came by to check on my movie picks and brought me warm cookies just because. I felt like the most important person on the plane—and that’s saying a lot when you’re three feet tall and wearing sparkly headphones. 😉

🌏 Did You Know?
- Cathay Pacific is based in Hong Kong and has won multiple awards for Best First Class service worldwide.
- First class seats on Cathay Pacific are over 36 inches wide—that’s wider than most recliners at home!
- The airline’s first class menu is designed by world-renowned chefs and includes dishes like lobster, wagyu beef, and caviar.
- In First Class, the cabin has only six seats total—so it’s super private and quiet.
✈️ Harper’s Travel Tip:
If you’re flying long-haul, bring a small pouch with your essentials: lip balm, hand sanitizer, a soft scarf, and a favorite book or game. Bonus if it sparkles ✨
💫 Why Flying First Class on Cathay Pacific Is Totally Worth It
If you ever get the chance to fly Cathay Pacific First Class, take it! Whether you’re a grown-up, a teen, or a traveling kid like me, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
It’s not just about the comfy seat or the delicious food (although those are both amazing). It’s about feeling seen, special, and taken care of from takeoff to landing. I’ll never forget that flight—it’s what made me fall in love with luxury travel and reminded me that how you travel is just as fun as where you go.
Until next time,
✈️ Stay curious, fly comfy, and always say yes to caviar (even if you’re a kid!)
