Where I Stayed in Paris: My Top 3 Luxury Hotels Ranked ✨
Bonjour friends! So as you probably saw in my Louvre blog post, my Paris trip was one for the books. I mean, Paris + art + pastries = perfection, right? But what I didn’t share in that post (because I was too busy fangirling over Da Vinci and ancient statues) was that I got to stay at not one, not two, but THREE amazing hotels during the trip!
Yep. Three different neighborhoods. Three different vibes. All totally luxe. But let’s be real—I do have a favorite. Keep reading for my personal ranking and hotel breakdown 👇
🥉 Third Place: Hotel Barrière Le Fouquet’s
Okay okay—this hotel is totally fabulous, so putting it in third place makes me feel kinda guilty. Like, am I betraying Parisian glam?! But here’s the deal: Le Fouquet’s is right on the Champs-Élysées, which is like the Rodeo Drive of Paris. You could shop till you drop and still not cover it all.
This place has major Old Hollywood vibes, and it’s known for attracting celebs. (Fun fact: The original Fouquet’s restaurant has been around since 1899 and has hosted everyone from French film stars to international icons. It’s even a designated historic monument!) The hotel staff were all super sweet—I came back to the room to find the cutest Parisian notebook just for me, and a chocolate Arc de Triomphe for my mom… which I might have stolen. Sorry, Mom!
Also? At night, they left me a book about the hotel’s history and red nail polish because, as they told me, “All the chicest women in Paris wear red nails.” Um, yes please!
The only reason it’s in third place: the room was a bit small, and you could hear the noise from the street (trash pickup is LOUD, y’all). But still, the Christmas setup, the indoor pool, and the vibe? Très magnifique.
🥈 Second Place: Le Meurice
Now THIS hotel felt like I was sleeping inside an actual art museum—which makes sense because it’s literally across from the Louvre. (Perfect location if you’re planning a day of art-nerding like me.)
Our suite at Le Meurice was absolutely stunning. Like… chandeliers, velvet, gold accents—all the fancy things. And when I looked out the window? Boom. Eiffel Tower view. Sparkling at night. I literally gasped.
They even left me a plate of macarons (aka edible happiness) and a handwritten note. I felt like a mini celebrity.
Fun fact: Le Meurice is known as the hotel of artists and royalty—Salvador Dalí lived there for a whole month every year for three decades! So yeah, I was basically sleeping in a room once walked by an artistic genius. No big deal.
🥇 First Place: Hôtel Plaza Athénée
Drumroll please… my #1 hotel in Paris is the Plaza Athénée! 💫
From the moment I walked in, I was like: Oh yeah. This is it.
It’s super close to the Eiffel Tower, and even though the hotel is beyond chic and elegant, they made me—a young girl—feel like royalty. When I checked in, they gave me a card to fill out with my faves (food, colors, animals, all the essentials), a Christmas cracker, and the cutest red teddy bear.
Fun fact: Fashion legend Christian Dior was a regular here, and the hotel’s iconic red awnings and interiors inspired some of his most famous designs. So basically, staying here = walking in couture history.
And speaking of history, my mom was living her best life when she found out the hotel is featured in Emily in Paris. She’s all about filming locations, so we were out there doing our best “bonjour, Sylvie” impressions.
Our room had a courtyard view, and guess what? In winter, they turn that courtyard into a sparkling ice rink! Watching people skate from the room while snacking on warm croissants? That’s a memory I’ll never forget.
Oh and the croissants… OMGoodness, you guys. I made a video so you can hear the actual crunch. Literal buttery magic. The Plaza sent up a tray of them and I was in pastry heaven.
Every detail—from the food to the decor to the thoughtful surprises—made this hotel feel like a warm hug in glittery wrapping paper. It’s the place to stay if you want to feel truly welcome, no matter your age.
Final Thoughts 🗼✨
All three hotels were incredibly special, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them. But Plaza Athénée just hit different. It’s the kind of place where every guest matters—from your chic grandmother to your travel-obsessed daughter. (Ahem, me.)
Next time you’re in Paris, definitely check them out. And if you haven’t already, make sure to read about my magical day at the Louvre here.
À bientôt,
Harper 💋
