Harper’s Sweet Escape to Mukul Resort in Nicaragua

3 min read

Hey friends! It’s Harper, and I’ve got a pretty amazing story for you. A few years ago, I was invited to the beautiful Mukul Resort in Nicaragua to help develop their kids’ spa program. Yep, you read that right—me, Harper, working on a spa program! It was such a cool experience, and I got to help create some fun and relaxing treatments for kids. While Mukul went through some tough times and had to close for a bit due to civil unrest, it’s reopened under new ownership. I’m not sure what their kids’ program looks like today, but I’ll never forget my time there.

Spa Day, Kid Style!

Let me tell you, this wasn’t just any ordinary spa experience. The team at Mukul curated the perfect spa day just for kids, and I got to try everything out!

Here’s how it went:

Relaxation in progress! The chocolate facial at Mukul Resort was the ultimate kid-friendly luxury. 🍫🛁
  • Chocolate Facial: Who doesn’t love chocolate, right? Imagine having it smeared all over your face in the most relaxing way possible. It smelled so good, and my skin felt amazing afterward.
  • Mini Mani & Pedi: I got my nails done with fun colors, and they even added little sparkles.

Chocolate facials = pure happiness! Harper’s spa experience at Mukul Resort was filled with fun and relaxation. 🍫✨

Post-spa treats! Cookies, juice, and sparkly nails made Harper’s day at Mukul Resort even sweeter. 💅🍪
  • Mommy & Me Full-Body Massage: This was such a sweet experience. My mom and I got to relax side by side while the amazing spa staff worked their magic.
  • Hair Updo & Treats: After all the pampering, they styled my hair into a cute updo, and I got o enjoy some fresh juice and cookies. I felt like a total princess!

Kul Kids Club – Where the Fun Never Stops

When I wasn’t at the spa, I was hanging out at the Kul Kids Club. This place was packed with fun activities, especially arts and crafts. I made so many cool projects to take home, and the staff was always super nice and ready to help.

One of my favorite activities was painting seashells. The staff had all these awesome ideas, and they made sure every kid felt included and had a blast. Whether we were making bracelets or building sandcastles on the beach, the Kul Kids Club was all about creativity and fun.

Amazing Staff, Amazing Stay

What really made my stay unforgettable was the staff. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure my family felt special. They even remembered my name and my favorite snacks!

A Bit of History

Sadly, after my visit, Mukul had to close for a while due to civil unrest in Nicaragua. But the good news is that it’s now reopened under new ownership. I’m not sure if their kids’ programs are the same as they were back then, but I hope they’ve kept some of those magical experiences for future families to enjoy.

🌎 A Little Learning Moment (Harper’s World Style!)

🗺️ Where is Nicaragua anyway?
Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, bordered by Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south. It’s known for its volcanoes, lakes, rainforests, and super friendly people. The Emerald Coast, where Mukul is located, sits right on the Pacific Ocean and is famous for its beaches and epic sunsets.

🧘 What’s a spa?
A spa is a place where people go to relax, get massages, facials, and other treatments that are good for your skin, muscles, and mind. At Mukul, their spa was built into the cliffs and designed with Nicaraguan traditions in mind—it even used ingredients like local cacao, coconut, and volcanic clay!

🐒 Fun Fact:
Nicaragua is home to more than 700 species of birds, monkeys that howl (yup—howler monkeys are loud!), and has the second-largest rainforest in the Americas.

Why Mukul Will Always Be Special

Mukul Resort in Nicaragua will always be one of those magical places that lives rent-free in my travel-loving heart. The chocolate facial, the staff who made me feel so seen, and the chance to help design something for other kids? Unforgettable. Even if the resort has changed, the memories haven’t.

So if you ever get the chance to visit, do it. Whether you’re lounging in a cliffside suite or painting seashells at the Kul Kids Club, Mukul has that rare mix of heart and high-end style. Here’s hoping you get your own sweet escape one day soon.

Until next time—sparkly nails, beachy waves, and lots of cookies 🏝️🍪💅

Until next time, happy travels! 🌴✨
