Suite Squad Spotlight: The Breakers Palm Beach
Hey fam — it’s Harper, and I’ve got BIG news. 🎉 The Harper’s World Suite Squad just wrapped up its very first mystery stay, and I couldn’t wait to share the results with you.
This wasn’t my personal trip — instead, one of our undercover Suite Squad reviewers checked into The Breakers Palm Beach without the hotel knowing. That’s the whole point: hotels can’t prepare or stage things for us, which means we get the real story of what families actually experience.
And let me just say… if this first review is any sign of what’s ahead, families are in for some exciting insights.
Why The Breakers Matters
Palm Beach gold star moment: The Breakers isn’t just any resort — it’s legendary. Built by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler back in 1896, it quickly became the place to be for society’s elite. But here’s a fun fact: after two fires destroyed the original buildings, the version that stands today opened in 1926 — and to make it jaw-droppingly beautiful, they literally flew in 75 Italian artisans to paint the lobby’s 200-foot ceiling by hand. Talk about dedication to the wow factor!
Fast forward to now, The Breakers is still family-owned by Flagler’s heirs and sprawls across 140 acres of oceanfront. So when the Suite Squad checks in here, it’s not just a hotel review — it’s stepping into a piece of living history.
What the Suite Squad Found
✨ Navigation: The Breakers is huge (like, “I might get lost on the way to the pool” huge). But staff were quick to offer maps and directions, making it manageable for families to explore without stress.
✨ Service: Our reviewer felt seen — not just the parents, but the kids too. Staff made a point of acknowledging younger guests and making them feel valued.
✨ Rooms: The suite setup was spacious, with a king bed and a sofa bed option. Families appreciated the extra room to spread out, proving that even in historic properties, thoughtful layouts make a big difference.
✨ Family Fun Factor: The highlight? A mini putt putt course. Yep, a luxury resort with mini golf! Add in ping-pong, basketball, an arcade, and even an ice cream spot connected to the kids’ area — and suddenly, “I’m bored” wasn’t part of the vocabulary.
✨ Dining: The family favorite was the steakhouse overlooking the golf course — incredible food with an equally amazing view. Poolside dining also stood out, becoming a daily ritual.
✨ Spa & Wellness: While the spa itself is gorgeous, the options for teens were limited to basics like a mani-pedi. That’s a missed opportunity. Teens today are deeply into wellness — facials for younger skin, restorative treatments after sports, or a “mom and me” massage are the kinds of experiences that create core memories and strengthen family bonds. Expanding these offerings would help The Breakers (and other resorts) meet the needs of a new generation of travelers.
✨ Extras Worth Noting: Multiple pools, a kids’ club, beach activities (with plenty of lifeguards), and spaces that worked for every generation — from teens to grandparents.
Why Families Will Love It
The Breakers balances old-school luxury with family inclusivity. It’s elegant and historic, but it doesn’t forget the kids. Whether it’s ice cream by the arcade, steak with a view, or mini golf under the sun, families will feel like everyone gets the five-star treatment.
And beyond the hotel, Palm Beach itself adds to the magic. Families can stroll along Worth Avenue for luxury shopping, take in the area’s art and history, or simply enjoy the pristine beaches with paddleboards and tubes. It’s a destination where relaxation and exploration go hand in hand.
The Suite Squad Grade
Grade: A (5 Stars) – Practically perfect. Would move in tomorrow. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Not a bad way to launch the Suite Squad, right? This first review sets the bar high, and I can’t wait to see where our undercover crew heads next. Stay tuned — this is only the beginning.
Until the next check-in…
XOXO, Harper 💫
