đđŠ La RĂ©serve Geneva: Where Christmas Meets the Jungle in Switzerland! đđ±
Hey Travel Besties!
So, I just got back from my first-ever trip to Geneva, Switzerland, and let me tell youâit was definitely something special. We only spent two nights there, but WOW did it leave an impression. From lakeside views to jungle vibes and holiday sparkle, Geneva had way more layers than I expected.
Our hotel, La RĂ©serve Geneva, felt like a mini escape inside our tripâa place where Swiss elegance met African safari style, and Christmas twinkle lights danced down every hallway. It wasnât your typical hotel experience… more like a surprise adventure wrapped in luxury and dipped in chocolate. đ«đ«
Let me tell you all about it, because this place definitely deserves a spot on your family travel wishlistâespecially if you’re into unique vibes, chill mornings, and trying sushi for breakfast. (Yup, you read that right.)
đ Welcome to My African-Swiss Fantasy
So when we first arrived at La RĂ©serve Geneva, I was like, âWaitâŠdid we just land in Africa?â Thatâs how the hotel feltâwith giant elephant statues, natural wood textures, earthy tones, and this wild-but-gorgeous jungle aesthetic everywhere. Seriously, I kept looking for Tarzan to swing down from a vine. đ
The main restaurant is called The Loti, and the second you walk in, youâre surrounded by tropical plants, tribal masks, wooden carvings, and this warm golden light that made it feel like a cozy African lodgeâbut fancy.
The theme wasnât cheesy at allâit was chic, elegant, and totally unexpected for Switzerland. It was like stepping into a secret world, that made me feel like I had just walked into a glam safari movie setâŠIN EUROPE. Likeâwhat?!.
đ Location, Location… LAKEcation!
One of my favorite things about La RĂ©serve is that itâs not smack-dab in the middle of Genevaâs city center. Itâs tucked away on the banks of Lake Geneva, surrounded by trees and peaceful vibes. Itâs only about 15 minutes from town, but it feels like youâre in your own little bubble of calm.
Oh, and they even have a private boat that can take you across the lake into the city. A BOAT. As a hotel shuttle. Thatâs next-level luxury, right?! I mean, can every hotel do that please?
âïž Christmas Wonderland Vibes
Since we went during the holidays, everything was decked out in white and gold Christmas decorations. Picture this: trees twinkling with fairy lights, gold ornaments, and even stars and icicle lights hanging from the ceiling in the hallway to our room.
As we walked to our suite, I felt like I was stepping into some kind of enchanted winter forestâlike Narnia but with luxury skincare and room service. đ
đȘ Welcome Treats = 10/10
When we finally got to our room (which was HUGE and super cozy, BTW), I had a surprise waiting just for meâa personalized welcome tray with a cookie, juice, gummies, and more! Literally squealed.
Yes, I made a whole video about it because a girlâs gotta document the snacks, right? đđ Go check it out on my Harperâs World video reviewsâitâs a vibe.
đż Letâs Talk Jungle Restaurant + Dreamy Breakfast
Okay. Letâs talk FOOD. You guys know Iâm a hardcore foodie (think mini Anthony Bourdain but with glitter and lip gloss), and the jungle-themed restaurant totally stole the show.
Now letâs discuss what might be the best hotel breakfast buffet on the planet:
- Sushi? âïž
- Asian dumplings? âïžâïž
- Fresh bread, fruit, eggs, cheese, charcuterie, and even chocolate? YES.
Iâm telling you, it was like a global flavor adventureâexactly what breakfast should be.
I know a lot of places play it safe with eggs and toast, but when I travel, I wanna try new things. As my mom always says:
âHow do you know you donât like it if you havenât tried it?â
And honestly? Thatâs how I live my lifeâone dumpling at a time.
đ Christmas Markets Without the Crowds
La RĂ©serve is just a short drive from Genevaâs old town, and during Christmas, the Geneva Christmas markets are SO CUTE. Not as crowded as other cities like Budapest (where you’re basically shoulder-to-shoulder), but still full of music, food, handmade gifts, and cozy vibes.
It felt relaxed, festive, and super authenticâa total win.
