Terms of Use

The terms behind Harper’s World.

Clear expectations help protect the stories, ideas, people and perspectives shared here. These Terms explain the rules that apply when you visit, read, subscribe to or otherwise interact with Harper’s World.

At a glance

What matters most.

These principles summarize how the Site may be used and how Harper’s World approaches its stories, partnerships and next-generation perspective.

01

Explore responsibly.

Use the Site lawfully and respect its writing, photography, designs, trademarks and contributors.

02

Editorial means independent.

A partnership, invitation, nomination or payment does not purchase favorable coverage or recognition.

03

Experiences can differ.

Stories and reviews reflect particular people, places and moments. Another traveler’s experience may be different.

04

Young voices are protected.

Youth participation requires appropriate adult involvement, permission and, when applicable, separate written terms.

01

Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use, referred to as the “Terms,” govern your access to and use of the website located at harpers-world.com and its pages, content, forms and features, collectively referred to as the “Site.”

By accessing, browsing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy .

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

If you use the Site on behalf of a company, property, destination, organization or other entity, you represent that you have authority to act on its behalf and to accept these Terms for that entity.

02

Who we are

Harper’s World™ is a discovery and editorial platform owned and operated by La Famille Agency, LLC. References in these Terms to “Harper’s World,” “we,” “us” or “our” refer to La Famille Agency, LLC in its operation of the Harper’s World™ brand.

Harper’s World publishes stories, observations, magazines, educational resources, cultural discoveries and next-generation perspectives on how families explore and understand the world.

Harper’s World is not a travel agency, tour operator, transportation provider, hotel representative, booking service or seller of travel. We do not book, arrange, control or guarantee third-party travel products or services through this Site.

03

Editorial independence

Harper’s World maintains editorial control over what it publishes, features, reviews, recommends, recognizes or chooses not to cover.

A hosted experience, complimentary stay, media invitation, affiliate relationship, paid partnership, advisory engagement, nomination, introduction or other commercial relationship does not purchase or guarantee:

  • Publication or editorial coverage.
  • A favorable story, review or conclusion.
  • A Suite Society review or result.
  • A Harper’s World Award.
  • Inclusion in Beyond Harper’s World.
  • Any particular wording, rating or recommendation.

Where a material commercial relationship exists in connection with specific content, we will provide an appropriate disclosure.

Editorial opinions may be direct, subjective and shaped by first-hand experience. We may update, revise or remove content when facts change, additional context becomes available or an editorial decision warrants it.

04

How to understand our programs and perspectives

Stories, reviews and observations

A story, review, guide, observation, recommendation or editorial inclusion represents a particular perspective and, when based on a visit, a particular moment in time. It is not a promise that another traveler will have the same experience.

Suite Society

Suite Society provides perspectives from young travelers. Its observations reflect the experiences and opinions of the participating reviewer or reviewers.

A Suite Society review is not a certification, inspection, professional safety assessment or guarantee that every child, teenager or family will respond to a property or experience in the same way.

Harper’s World Awards

A Harper’s World Award is editorial recognition based on the standards and process selected by Harper’s World for the relevant award period.

A nomination, invitation, submission, media visit, advisory relationship or commercial relationship does not guarantee consideration, finalist status or an award.

An award is not a governmental approval, safety inspection, formal accreditation or guarantee of future performance.

Harper’s Touch

Harper’s Touch provides an advisory perspective. Advice, observations and recommendations are informational and strategic in nature. The receiving property or organization remains responsible for deciding whether and how to implement them.

A Harper’s Touch engagement does not guarantee editorial coverage, recognition, an award or a particular business result.

Beyond Harper’s World

Beyond Harper’s World is an editorial publication. An introduction, pitch, partnership enquiry or submission does not guarantee inclusion in an issue or other Harper’s World coverage.

05

You may choose to send Harper’s World an editorial pitch, award nomination, introduction, partnership enquiry, feedback, photograph, document or other material.

Unless we have entered into a separate written confidentiality agreement:

  • Unsolicited submissions will not be treated as confidential.

You retain ownership of original material you submit. When you intentionally submit material for possible publication, promotion, nomination review or editorial consideration, you grant Harper’s World a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to review, store, reproduce and use the material for the purpose for which it was submitted.

We may request a separate contributor agreement, photograph release, interview release or parental permission before publishing particular material.

The Site may link to the Harper’s World Amazon storefront or include other affiliate links.

When you select an eligible affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Harper’s World may receive a commission or other compensation. This ordinarily does not increase the price you pay.

Affiliate relationships will be disclosed near relevant links or content where appropriate.

Amazon Associate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

When a material relationship is connected to particular content, Harper’s World will disclose that relationship in a manner intended to be clear and understandable.
