Meet Harper: The Kid Behind Harper’s World
Hi, I’m Harper — and travel taught me that the smallest details often leave the biggest impressions.
I’ve always believed the best part of travel isn’t simply seeing a place — it’s understanding it. The food, the history, the people, and the details most travelers walk right past. The market vendor who explains why a spice has been traded on that corner for three centuries. The neighborhood that never makes the guidebook but tells you everything about how a city actually lives. That’s the travel that changes you — and that’s the standard I hold every destination to.
Through Harper’s World, I share destinations, hotels, and cultural discoveries through a perspective the industry rarely consults — a young traveler exploring the world alongside her mother and grandmother, discovering how travel connects generations when it’s done right and where it still falls short.
I’ve stayed at celebrated luxury properties that excelled in every detail for adults, yet missed opportunities to meaningfully engage younger travelers. Those experiences taught me the difference between a hotel that accommodates families and one that genuinely understands them.
That perspective has shaped Harper’s World into more than a publication. It’s a platform dedicated to the hotels, destinations, and ideas redefining what family travel can be — for every generation in the room.
Whether you’re a family deciding where to spend your most valuable time together, or a hospitality brand seeking to better understand the next generation of travelers — Harper’s World was built to bridge that gap.
Behind Harper’s World
Harper’s World doesn’t happen by accident. Behind every destination, story, and partnership is a passionate team dedicated to making family travel feel extraordinary. From creative direction to brand collaborations, every detail is handled with care — so Harper can stay focused on what she was born to do.
At the core of it all is something rare: a three-generation collaboration — Harper, her mom Desiree, and her grandmother Andrea — united by a shared belief that the world looks better through a child’s eyes.
Andrea Wolter
Founder & Executive Director
Andrea Wolter built a career across multiple industries—from automotive racing R&D to the airline industry—before founding her luxury travel company in 2013. But it was watching her granddaughter Harper experience the world with pure wonder that became her greatest inspiration.
Today, Andrea is the driving force behind Harper’s World, working alongside her daughter Desiree and granddaughter Harper to show families that the most meaningful adventures are the ones shared.
Desiree Palmer
Mom & Creative + Content Coordinator
Desiree is the creative force behind Harper’s World — bringing stories to life through photography, content, and a mother’s instinct for capturing the moments that matter most.
As Harper’s mom, she doesn’t just document the adventures — she lives them.
Harper’s World began with a simple belief: young travelers deserve to feel seen.
Not accommodated. Not entertained. Seen.
As I traveled the world, I noticed that many incredible hotels excelled at serving adults but often overlooked the perspectives of the younger guests traveling alongside them. Yet those moments of recognition — the staff member who speaks directly to a child, the experience designed with genuine curiosity in mind, the feeling that every generation matters — are often the moments families remember most.
That’s why Harper’s World exists.
What started as a standard I held hotels to has grown into a platform exploring how travel, hospitality, and culture can bring generations together. Today, Harper’s World celebrates the destinations, hotels, and ideas that recognize family travel isn’t about keeping young travelers occupied — it’s about helping them feel included, inspired, and valued.
Because when young travelers feel seen, the entire journey becomes more meaningful for everyone.

Walking through the gates in Kyoto felt like stepping into a new version of me. That’s the magic of travel—it opens doors and dares you to level up

This Is When I Fell in Love with Travel
It all started when I was three years old on my first big adventure to China.
My family spent the journey staying at Four Seasons hotels in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. At the time, I didn’t know anything about luxury hospitality. I just knew how those hotels made me feel.
From the moment we arrived, I wasn’t treated as an extra person in the room. I was treated as a guest. The staff spoke to me, remembered my name, and found thoughtful ways to make me feel included in the experience. Even at three years old, I felt seen.
What I didn’t realize then was that not every hotel approached young travelers that way.
As I grew older and traveled to more destinations around the world, I began noticing the difference. Many beautiful hotels offered incredible experiences for adults, but often overlooked the children and teens traveling alongside them. That’s when I realized what had made those early Four Seasons stays so memorable wasn’t the luxury itself — it was the intention behind it.
Those experiences shaped the way I view hospitality today. They also became the foundation of Harper’s World.
What started as a little girl falling in love with travel grew into a mission to spotlight the hotels, destinations, and ideas that make young travelers feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and included. Because when a child feels seen, the entire family’s experience becomes more meaningful.
Looking back, I didn’t just fall in love with travel on that trip.
I fell in love with the feeling of belonging.
“Even at 3 years old, I knew this trip was something special — and it still shapes how I see the world today.”

My Bucket List
I’m on a mission to visit every country in the world before I turn 21 — and yep, I know that sounds kinda crazy, but I’m going for it! This is my personal bucket list of places I’ve always wanted to see and cool things I want to try along the way. Some are big, like going on a safari in Africa, and some are just fun, like eating gelato in Italy (again). I’m keeping track as I go… and I’m just getting started!
Go on Safari in Africa
Stay in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives
Go on a K-beauty shopping spree in Seoul, Korea
See the Northern Lights in Iceland
Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
Visit an international Disneyland (I have been to 2)
Star in a local theater performance abroad
Try chicken feet at a night market in Asia (for the foodie cred!)
See the Eiffel Tower in Paris
Visit every country in the world (because why not?)
